FAQ: How are updates to Indeni’s software provided?

Ubuntu has a mechanism called “apt-get” for installing and upgrading software packages. The software itself is packaged in Debian format, and each package can maintain versions, dependencies and more. All of Indeni’s software is provided in a set of packages of this type. In order to make lives easier for Indeni users (that’s what we’re all about after all!), we have implemented a tool called “iManage” which saves one from needing to use apt-get (it uses apt-get internally).

To update to the latest version of software, log into the Indeni device via SSH and type:

imanage

Follow the options available to update the software.
