Check Point R77.30 is a year away from EOS, still prevalent

This month marks the 12-month line until Check Point R77.30’s end of support. Since the release of R80.10, Check Point has been encouraging customers to upgrade their firewalls to the newer version. With R80.20 around the corner, users will have more options to choose to as they move off of R77.30.

We decided to take a look at our Indeni Insight data, to evaluate how well are users positioned for this May 2019 deadline.:

  • 88% of customers are still running R77.30 on at least one of their devices.
  • 77% of all Check Point firewalls are still running R77.30.
  • Only 14% of firewalls are running R80.10. (see discussion on R80.10 here)


For those of you who already have your upgrades planned - good job. For the others, you may want to get going. At the rate of upgrading two devices per week, it will take the entire 12 month timeframe to upgrade a 100-firewall environment.
